The book “Italian Olive Oil Tins 1860-1960. Guatelli Collection” traces the history of the entire collection: from boxes for export to those destined for the domestic market, produced between the late 19th century and the end of the Second World War.
The volume, curated by Manuela Guatelli Giamminola and Daniela Lauria, published by Silvana Editoriale, contains a series of texts by Francis Ford Coppola, Sandro Calvani, Lucio Carli, Luigi Caricato, Tiziana Riva Guatelli, and Riccardo Guatelli.
The images, distributed throughout the various chapters, transport the reader into a romantic and timeless world, where imaginative illustrations of individual tins demonstrate the special

After spending much of his life dedicating his time to the family business, Riccardo Guatelli decided not to abandon lithographed tin but to use it as raw material to shape and transform into works of art.
His knowledge of the material, combined with his great love for art in all its forms, from poetry to music, is the common thread of his artistic production. He works with ease, giving life to sculptures that are unique in their kind.
Each piece has its own story linked to his personal experiences, but it also reflects on human nature and the mystery of existence.
